Tencent Science and Technology News on November 20, Tencent CloudTencentThe Shanghai Summit of the Global Digital Ecology Conference released the copyright Music Assistant. Copyright Music Assistant is the first product in the industry to adopt a pay-per-view model, which can help content creators and platforms quickly call legitimate music and lower the threshold for the use of legitimate music.

Chen Liang, product director of Tencent Cloud Internet industry, said that new forms of content such as Vlog, small videos and dynamic photo albums are booming, and there is a growing demand for users to consume and use music materials. Application developers and platforms not only need to give users enough music choices, but also need to ensure that the music on the platform is authentic to avoid infringement.

Application developers and platforms face many difficulties: some music libraries are not rich enough and need to talk about copyright and sign agreements. Some music libraries contain music materials with unknown copyright, which may be at risk of infringement. Even if the genuine music library is found, there are still some problems, such as the long access process and the high cost of capital investment to buy out the copyright at one time.

Based on these pain points, Tencent Cloud launched PaaS product "copyright Music Assistant" to solve the problems of difficult for applications to find materials, difficult to access, and high cost of capital investment.

Behind "copyright Music Assistant" is the massive music library of Tencent Music Entertainment Group (TME), including Vlog, QQ, nostalgia and other popular music libraries, all materials are clearly copyrighted, and content creators and platforms do not have to worry about the risk of infringement.

In the access process, the application developer or platform only needs to add a domain name to the "copyright Music Assistant" console and call TME's music library through API, and the connection can be completed in 2 hours at the earliest. Through Tencent Cloud's massive acceleration nodes around the world, terminals can quickly obtain music resources. At the same time, applications can pay according to usage without having to invest a lot of money at one time to sign a contract with the copyright owner.

"We are equivalent to cloud content resources, provide more flexible payment methods, and ultimately hope to make it easier and lower barriers for developers and platforms to use legitimate music. For small and medium-sized enterprises, copyright music assistants can reduce the cost of starting; larger platforms can quickly test new business through this product. " Tencent Yun copyright music assistant said.

Copyright Music Assistant can be used in a variety of scenarios. For example, in photo album applications, video shooting and editing applications and various UGC content platforms, users need to insert music into their own videos or photo albums; on e-commerce platforms, merchants also need to use music materials when decorating stores and displaying goods. On some H5 tool platforms, companies use background music when generating H5 promotional pages, and game developers also use background music in games.

Industry observers pointed out that since July 2015, the National copyright Administration issued a notice ordering online music service providers to stop unauthorized dissemination of music works, the industry-wide protection of music copyright has been increasing, which means that the threshold for the use of legitimate music is also high. Music copyright owners cooperate with cloud service vendors to reduce the threshold and cost of using copyrighted music, which not only helps copyright owners to innovate delivery methods, but also facilitates platforms and developers.
