FX168 Financial News (North America) News The stock prices of Dell Technologies and ultra-microcomputers rose on Thursday (6/20) as Elon Musk revealed that these two hardware manufacturers will provide servers for his artificial intelligence startup xAI to develop supercomputers.
In an X post, Musk said, “Dell is assembling half the rack of the supercomputer that will be built by xAI,” adding that ultra-microcomputers will also participate.
On Thursday, Dell and Ultra Micro both increased their shares by more than 5%.
Musk promised to build a $500 million “Dojo” supercomputer in Buffalo, New York, and to build an “ultra-high-density, water-cooled supercomputer cluster” at the company's plant in Austin, Texas. This technology is expected to help Tesla develop the computer vision and large-scale language models needed for robots and autonomous vehicles.
Musk founded xAI last year as a competitor to Microsoft-supported OpenAI and Google's Alphabet. Musk also co-founded OpenAI.
Dell CEO Michael Dell said in an X post that his company is cooperating with Nvidia to build a “Dell Artificial Intelligence Factory” to power Musk's AI robot GroK.
