On June 14, the Hubei Provincial Investment Project Online Approval and Supervision Platform disclosed that the "vehicle-road-cloud" major demonstration project for intelligent networked new energy vehicles in Wuhan has been approved by the Wuhan Municipal Development and Reform Commission, with a registration amount of about 17 billion yuan, and is scheduled to start in June. The project unit is the state-owned enterprise Wuhan CheNet Smart Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. The project will build a unified intelligent networked automobile service platform for the whole city, 15,000 smart parking spaces, 5.578 kilometers of smart roads (经开区), a 160,000 square meter intelligent networked automobile industry research and development base (Wuhan East Lake High Technology Group), a vehicle rule-level chip industrial park, and an unmanned driving industrial park, to promote a significant increase in the coverage rate of urban intelligent roads and the assembly rate of on-board terminals.

In January 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport, and other five departments issued a notice on carrying out the application pilot work of the "vehicle-road-cloud integration" of intelligent connected vehicles. The pilot period is from 2024 to 2026, with classified measures to gradually improve the vehicle network penetration rate. The on-board terminals of C-V2X and the carrier of vehicle digital identity certificates will be installed on 100% of the running vehicles in the pilot, and retrofitting of C-V2X on-board terminals of public domain vehicles such as urban buses, official vehicles, and taxis is encouraged.
