1. Company Overview

Telus Inc. <3915> is a leading cloud integration company that has specialized in the development and introduction support of cloud systems since its establishment in 2006, driving the growth of the domestic cloud market. The cumulative adoption of cloud systems, centered on Salesforce, has exceeded 7,000 cases as of the end of February 2024 (independent). They have handled various development projects regardless of industry or company size. At the end of February 2024, the group had 10 domestic and 2 overseas subsidiaries, and BeeX (69% investment ratio) which supports the introduction of AWS and SAP systems migration to the cloud, has grown to the second largest business size in the company. There is also Kit Alive (same 49%) as a subsidiary company using the equity method. To respond to the strong demand of the cloud market, they are proactively expanding human resources, and the number of group employees (including Kit Alive) at the end of February 2024 has expanded 2.1 times over 3 years, reaching 1,248.

2. History

The company was founded in 2006 by current Representative Director, CEO and President Executive Officer Hideya Sato. Sato has a background of having worked for the Japan IBM Corporation, and participated in the establishment of Salesforce, Inc.'s Japanese subsidiary. He anticipated that cloud services would spread as companies' information systems in the future, and has been developing and introducing cloud systems centered on Salesforce since the founding of the business.

As a product business, in 2008 they began developing support tools such as 'SkyEditor' (now SkyVisualEditor) that facilitate the convenience of cloud systems, the communication platform 'mitoco' (positioned as the next generation of groupware in 2016) and the development and provision of the cloud data linkage service 'DataSpider Cloud' (launched in 2017), and each have steadily increased their number of introductions. In addition, with regard to 'DataSpider Cloud', they acquired some of the rights from the joint development partner and have been offering it as 'mitoco X' (an independent service) since September 2023.

*3 A service that can connect various cloud services with internal databases, applications and other systems by non-programming, co-developed with Aprezzo Corp. (merged with Seazon Information Systems <9640> in April 2019).


In the course of business growth, the company has implemented many capital business alliances. Looking at their past achievements, they carried out NTT Techno Cross, Inc. (formerly NTT Software Corp.) in 2010, ServerWorks <4434>, mainly for support and resale of AWS introduction in 2013, eCOMOTTO <3987> who deployed IoT/Mobile cloud solutions in 2016, Cloudier Japan Corp. (subsequently acquired and merged in 2018) who deployed cloud integration in the Kyushu area, IGUASSU, Inc. who is a distributor of IBM products in 2017, Business Engineering <4828> who performs ERP system introduction support and others in 2018, Japan System Technology, Inc. who is an independent systems development company in 2019, Opron, Inc. who deploys cloud bill services, etc. in 2021, Technos Japan, Inc. <3666> who mainly deploys development and introduction support of SAP and Salesforce, and NTT DATA implemented capital business alliances respectively in 2024.

In addition, to expand its business areas in the cloud market, stem inc. is actively promoting the establishment of subsidiary companies. Starting with the establishment of Sky 365 Co., Ltd., in 2014, which provides monitoring and maintenance services for Amazon Web Services in a joint venture with server works, stem inc. has established subsidiary companies such as KitAlive, which introduces cloud systems based in BeeX and Hokkaido in 2016, Veru Sky Ventures Co., Ltd., which invests in and nurtures venture companies, Quemix Co., Ltd., which researches and develops algorithms that maximize the performance of quantum computers, and TerraSky (Thailand) Co., Ltd. which provides support for the development and introduction of cloud systems in Thailand, and has made Cuon Co., Ltd., which deals with EC sites and web application development, a subsidiary through stock acquisition. In addition, in 2021, stem inc. established Libel Sky Co., Ltd., which performs tasks such as constructing a data analysis platform on Google's cloud platform, and Telus Sky Technologies, which dispatches and introduces cloud engineers. Stem inc. also made Enoki Co., Ltd. (formerly iFocus Networks Co., Ltd.), which develops and introduces AI platforms, a subsidiary, and in 2022, established DiceWorks, which provides support for the introduction of MA tools on Salesforce, such as Marketing Cloud and Account Management (formerly Pardot).
