According to reports, ec healthcare has announced that it expects its pre-interest, tax, self-property depreciation, and plant and equipment amortization profit for the financial year ending 31 March 2024 to be reduced by no more than 10% compared to the previous year; the group's net profit after tax for the reporting period is not expected to exceed HKD 25 million, a decrease of about 77% compared to the same period last year.
The announcement stated that the main reasons for the decline in net profit and pre-interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization profit were due to an increase in bank loan interest expenses of approximately HKD 44 million compared to the financial year ending on 31 March 2023 due to an increase in interest rates; the operating leverage of the new service points temporarily remained low compared to the financial year ending on 31 March 2023; and the addition of new service points from internal expansion led to an increase in depreciation and amortization expenses compared to the financial year ending on 31 March 2023.
