According to a research report by BOCI International, Sunny Optical (02382.HK) held its annual Investor Day on June 18, focusing mainly on technology and market trends. The company did not raise its guidance as speculated by the market but slightly increased its outlook for global smart phone sales in 2024. Investor Day mainly discussed the rapid growth of mixed smart phone lenses, periscope lenses, ultra-thin foldable phone camera modules, mixed advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) onboard camera, lidar, AR head-up displays (HUD), car lights and automobile camera modules, as well as flexibility in the field of artificial intelligence smart phones.

The bank pointed out that given the strong growth of the Android system from the beginning of the year and the company's annual shipment volume exceeding expectations so far, it is expected that the profit margin in the first half of 2024 will significantly recover. The bank also expects the company to continue to reevaluate its position under the promotion of artificial intelligence hardware in the coming quarters. The bank maintained its "buy" rating on Sunny Optical and raised its target price from 61 yuan to 69 yuan, raising its earnings per share forecast for the next two years by 6%.
