CLP Holdings Limited - SS (02638.HK) announced today (19th) that it has decided to continue to promote the "Belt and Road Electricity and Energy Advanced Seminar Project" with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and State Grid Corporation of China. CLP Holdings Limited stated that the new phase of the project will last for four years until 2028, aiming to further improve the overall and innovative level of the electrical utilities industry. It also plans to conduct on-site research in countries and regions along the Belt and Road, and propose the most suitable infrastructure and system operation plans according to different geographical environments and technical levels, to promote the economic development of these countries and regions. It is reported that the project has been continuously launched for 6 years, jointly organized by the above 4 founding institutions, to support the initiative of jointly building the Belt and Road with high quality development by the country. The project has trained about 800 professionals from over 20 countries so far.

Mr. Zheng Zuying, the Managing Director of CLP Holdings Limited, stated that it is not easy to supply electricity to this densely populated city of Hong Kong. To cope with different situations and challenges, the company has developed a power transmission and distribution system that is most suitable for the urban environment of Hong Kong, including submarine and underground cables, cable tunnels, and so on.
He further pointed out that around the world, people are currently discussing how to strengthen the electrical utilities grid to resist the ability of increasingly extreme weather.
