1. Company Overview

Higashi TwentyOne <9029> is a comprehensive logistics company that originated in Kansai. It is a unique comprehensive logistics enterprise that has “Evolution for Customers - “Shinka” for the future with advanced logistics design capabilities and a strong customer base, promotes the expansion of core businesses and metropolitan area businesses while utilizing M&A, and actively develops logistics services with high added value and logistics services in surrounding areas/growth areas that have different characteristics from general transportation businesses.

The head office is in Chuo-ku, Osaka-shi, and the Tokyo head office is in Minato-ku, Tokyo, and offices are located in Ibaraki-shi, Osaka (Ibaraki General Logistics Group, Kanden Logistics Group), Osaka-shi Nishiyodogawa-ku (Hanshin General Logistics Group), Tokyo Itabashi-ku (Tokyo General Logistics Group), Yasu-shi, Shiga (Keiji General Logistics Group), etc. Also, as a logistics center that performs 3PL operations for Amazon Japan, it is deployed with Higashiosaka LC, Kadoma LC, Nagareyama LC, Naruohama LC, Kita-Osaka LC, and Kobe-Nishi LC is scheduled to begin operation in 2024/8.

Total assets at the end of 2024/3 are 25,535 million yen, net assets are 12,311 million yen, capital adequacy ratio is 48.2%, and the number of issued shares is 13,264,000 shares (including 89,525 treasury shares). The group consists of the same company and 8 consolidated subsidiaries. Consolidated subsidiaries are Utrans Systems Co., Ltd., Ishikawa Corporation Co., Ltd., FM Support 21 Co., Ltd., Transport 21 Co., Ltd., World Corporation Co., Ltd., Higashi Office Service Co., Ltd., Yamagami Transportation Co., Ltd., and Tabito Co., Ltd.

2. HISTORY

In 1944/12, 13 transportation companies in the Higashi-ku district of Osaka, starting with Osaka Freight Vehicle Transport Co., Ltd., merged to establish Osaka Higashi Transport Co., Ltd., as the first company with the Osaka Land Transport Bureau Transportation Business License. After that, Nippon Life Insurance (minister) took capital participation in 1947/11 to strengthen the management base. The trade name was changed to Higashi Transport Service Co., Ltd. in 1985/8, and to Higashi Twentyone Co., Ltd., which is the current company name, in 2002/2. Also, it was listed on the JASDAQ Stock Exchange in 2005/3, listed on the 2nd section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange (hereafter, Tokyo Stock Exchange) in 2011/9, and transitioned to the Tokyo Stock Exchange standard market due to the Tokyo Stock Exchange market restructuring in 2022/4.

Since 2016, M&A has been actively utilized for business expansion, and spin-off is being promoted with a view to expanding businesses that have different characteristics from the general transportation business and transitioning to holding companies in the future. Specifically, Utrans System became a wholly owned subsidiary in 2016/1, invested in World Corporation in 2016/4 (became a wholly owned subsidiary in 2020/1), Ishikawa Corporation became a wholly owned subsidiary in 2017/7, and Transport 21 was established in September of the same year. In 2018/4, the building delivery business was taken over by FM Support 21, the office relocation/moving business was taken over by Higashi Office Service in 2020/10, and Yamagami Transport Industry was made a wholly owned subsidiary in 2022/2, and Tabito in August of the same year.
