Well-known Apple leakster Mark Gurman wrote in his latest article that the new iPad Pro lays the foundation for thinner iPhones and other devices.
Last month, Apple released hardware products such as the iPad Pro at the "Spring New Product Launch", of which the thickness of the 13-inch iPad Pro is 5.1 millimeters. The body shell is made of 100% recycled aluminum metal, which is the thinnest Apple product ever.
The official website states that the product "integrates powerful performance into a super-thin, super-light, super-portable design."
Gurman said that in the past few years, Apple seemed to have given up pursuing thin and light devices: MacBook Pro became thicker to accommodate larger batteries, more powerful processors, and more ports; Apple Watch added a heavier option- Ultra model with more features and longer battery life; the iPhone also became thicker, leaving more space for better camera and stronger battery life.
Gurman wrote, "Apple launched a new iPad Pro in May, signaling a return by the company." He pointed out that the battery life of this ultra-thin iPad Pro is the same as the previous model, with an impressive screen, and the M4 chip makes it as powerful as a desktop computer.
"In other words, Apple has found a way to make its devices thinner again while adding new features. I expect this method to be applied to other devices in the coming years," Gurman said.
