As part of a new feature, YouTube will soon allow users to add 'annotations' to provide background information for some of its videos. This feature will first be launched in the USA. As part of the initial testing phase, YouTube will invite certain users and creators to write annotations. Social media platform X also has a similar feature called 'Community Notes' which allows selected users to add context to posts, including labels such as 'misleading' and 'taken out of context.' American users will begin seeing annotations in videos in the coming weeks or months.
