Alibaba's (09988.HK) logistics flagship, Cainiao, recently announced that its latest L4 level logistics unmanned vehicle, the GT model, made its debut at the 10th China (Shanghai) International Technology Import and Export Fair. The vehicle is currently in operation on public roads and is mainly responsible for transporting goods from the delivery network to the final destination, effectively solving the problem of transporting goods from areas far away from the network and requiring multiple round trips.
When fully loaded, the GT model can transport approximately 600 to 1,000 parcels, covering the daily volume of a medium-sized residential area. Taking a delivery network that has already deployed Cainiao's unmanned vehicles on public roads as an example, an average of over 1,000 deliveries and hundreds of pick-ups can be made on each route per day, processing over 1,500 parcels daily. The transport volume can basically replace previous transport vehicles, with an average delivery cost of as low as 0.1 yuan per package.
