On the 13th, POPER <5134> announced the financial results for the second quarter of the 2024 fiscal year (November 23-April 24), with revenue increasing by 15.7% YoY to 470 million yen, operating profit increasing by 3.5% YoY to 23 million yen, net income increasing by 16.3% YoY to 22 million yen, and net income for the quarter decreasing by 4.5% YoY to 12 million yen. During this second quarter accounting period, M&A expenses related to absorbent division amounted to 18 million yen, and each stage of profit was increased YoY before deducting M&A expenses.

During the second quarter of this fiscal year, the main service "Comiru" continued to acquire new customers through sales of up-sell (expansion of department usage or number of users) and cross-sell (use of "ComiruHR") to existing customers, as well as successful introduction of new customers from April in the new fiscal year. As a result, the number of paid contract companies increased by 97 from the end of the previous fiscal year, and new customers were steadily acquired. On the other hand, the increase in billed student IDs remained small due to a decrease in the number of existing students in the existing study schools due to the turnover of the new fiscal year.

In the field of learning schools other than English conversation or programming schools, new customers continue to be acquired through marketing measures such as sharing utilization examples and holding industry-specific seminars.

In the field of public education schools, based on the experience gained in the model project of the Chiba prefectural board of education in the previous fiscal year, it was decided to expand the introduction in Yachiyo city, Chiba prefecture and to introduce it for the first time in Nara-shi, Chiba prefecture in the fiscal year 2024. In addition, Mynavi has been selected as a consignment destination for the Chiba Prefectural Board of Education's "Business Improvement DX Advisor Placement Project", and the company will support the effect verification of the project and the regional transition of club activities as a specialized advisor.

In the field of small and medium-sized learning schools, which have been well received since the past, management seminars tailored to the industry were held 19 times in the first half of the year, double the number of nine times in the previous first half of the year. The average number of participants in each seminar has been steadily increasing to over 200. In addition, by tuning web advertisements and other operations appropriately and conducting PDCA to maintain the optimal state, the rate of conversion from attracting customers to actual sales has been improved. In addition to these effective marketing activities, many referrals have been made from existing customers, and new customers are being acquired smoothly. As for major learning schools, there has been a trend of increasing inquiries for services that combine the introduction of "ComiruPRO" and the paid development of core systems from the previous fiscal year, and several projects are currently in progress. As a specific business negotiation situation, discussions were held with 19 companies including continuous projects from the previous fiscal year, and orders or approvals have been obtained from 7 companies. These are expected to increase sales and profits from this fiscal year onwards.

The full-year business performance forecast for the fiscal year ending October 2024 is based on the initial plan, with revenues expected to increase by 19.1% YoY to 987 million yen, operating income expected to increase by 68.8% YoY to 62 million yen, core income expected to increase by 86.3% YoY to 61 million yen, and net income for the current period expected to increase by 83.4% YoY to 48 million yen.
