According to a report from Macau Radio, the Director of the Macau Government Tourism Office, Helena de Senna Fernandes, revealed that the number of visitors to Macau and their consumption data indicate a sustained increase in tourist visits and spending. The temporary data for this year up to May shows that there were over 14 million inbound tourists, with an average of over 93,000 per day. This represents a year-on-year increase of about 50% and a recovery to 82.5% of the same period in 2019, and the overall recovery of tourists is ideal. Among them, the number of Mainland tourists has reached nearly 9.895 million, a recovery of 81% compared to the same period in 2019, while the number of Hong Kong tourists has reached 2.981 million, a recovery of 97.1%. As for international tourists, there were about 978,000 visitors from January to May, with an average of over 6,400 per day, which has increased by 1.75 times year-on-year and recovered to nearly 67% of the same period in 2019.
