On June 16, during the China-Langfang International Economic and Trade Negotiation Conference, Xpeng Huitian's Traveler X2 completed its maiden flight in the Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone. Xpeng Huitian told reporters from Caijing News that this was also the first flight of manned low-altitude flying machines, including flying cars, in the Jing-Jin-Ji region. Xpeng Huitian stated that "the company is ready to mass-produce and plans to begin pre-sales of the Xpeng Huitian modular flying car in the fourth quarter of this year, which can meet the needs of exploring modular flying cars for intercity commuting."
Previously, the Action Plan for Promoting the High-quality Development of Low-altitude Economy Industry in Beijing (2024-2027) (Draft for Soliciting Opinions) pointed out that Beijing will create a national low-altitude flight application innovation demonstration, open up diverse application scenarios, and establish commuting routes between Daxing Airport and Xiong'an New District, and the Capital Airport and Tianjin, Langfang and other regions to explore new business models of modular flying cars for intercity commuting and intra-city shuttle.
