Brother Industries, Ltd. (President Ichiro Sasaki) has signed a "Nagasaki Prefecture and Brother Industries, Ltd. Collaboration Agreement" with the aim of cooperating in the field of renewable energy containing hydrogen to achieve a carbon neutral society.

Beginning in 2013, Brother Industries has been developing hydrogen fuel cells that do not emit CO2 Brother Industries has also worked to promote the use of hydrogen along with the development of fuel cells, including the project of utilizing hydrogen pillars to transport hydrogen safely and inexpensively and make hydrogen use more accessible, as well as the supply of green hydrogen generated from renewable energy and other initiatives. In 2023, Brother will launch the brand "PureEne" that symbolizes all of Brother's efforts to promote hydrogen utilization and further strengthen its activities.
The signing of this collaboration agreement was made possible because it was believed that Brother's initiatives and knowledge regarding hydrogen utilization, including PureEne, could contribute to Nagasaki Prefecture's efforts to promote entry into hydrogen-related industries by local companies. Nagasaki Prefecture has been taking advanced approaches to introduce renewable energy and promote related industries, including offshore wind power generation, and cooperation between the two parties is expected to facilitate the revitalization of the local renewable energy industry and other industries in the prefecture by utilizing the resources they both possess.
Going forward, Brother will continue to be a company that works on hydrogen-related initiatives, including environmentally friendly fuel cells, to assist in achieving a carbon neutral society.
