Background

NTT Data has set climate change response as one of the important issues to promote sustainable management. It provides comprehensive support for customers' mid- to long-term decarbonization management, such as formulating decarbonization strategies, visualizing GHG emissions, and supporting information disclosure and mechanisms for reducing GHG emissions. With cooperation from Enshu Credit Union, NTT Data's digital technology and green consulting services combined with Enshu Credit Union's local customer network will contribute to promoting decarbonization for customers located in Shizuoka prefecture.
Scope 1-3 emissions of corporations are calculated and the C-Turtle platform from NTT Data is provided to clients, visualizing and providing accurate and efficient analysis for reduction efforts, with supplier's emission reduction efforts reflecting in the client's Scope 3 emissions reduction. This collaboration enables NTT Data to reflect and combine its digital technology and green consulting services with Enshu Credit Union's local customer network to help promote decarbonization efforts for clients in Shizuoka prefecture.
Enshu Credit Union has been reflecting the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" proposed by the United Nations in its activities, striving for local problem solving and achieving a sustainable society.
NTT Data and Enshu Credit Union have been cooperating since 2022 to support decarbonization efforts for local businesses, and now, have initiated this collaboration.

Approach

First, Enshu Credit Union will engage with clients to understand their challenges and needs in calculating GHG emissions. ^{Note 1}Then, NTT Data will calculate corporate Scope 1-3 emissions, using the C-Turtle platform to visualize emissions, and providing accurate and efficient analysis for reduction efforts, with supplier's emission reduction efforts reflecting in the client's Scope 3 emissions reduction. ^{Note 2}This enables the GHG emissions to be calculated, visualized, and allow for accurate and efficient analysis for reduction efforts.

Future Prospects

NTT Data and Enshu Credit Union leverage their resources to promote decarbonization efforts for clients in Shizuoka prefecture by providing a comprehensive support system for their mid- to long-term decarbonization management.
Furthermore, NTT Data makes use of C-Turtle and other digital technologies to promote value in corporate emission reduction efforts, thus contributing not only to clients' decarbonization efforts, but also promoting the realization of decarbonization for the supply chain and society as a whole.
