Market research institution TrendForce predicts a less optimistic production volume of smart phones in the second quarter, estimated to fall 5% to 10% compared to the previous quarter.
The institution pointed out that compared to the first quarter of last year, suppliers significantly reduced production targets to solve the serious problem of channel inventory accumulation. Therefore, although the production volume of smart phones in the first quarter of this year was lower than the level of over 300 million units before the epidemic, it still has a seemingly good year-on-year growth rate of 18.7%, with a total shipment volume of 296 million units.
The ranking of production market share in the first quarter shows that the top three in the world are Samsung, Apple (AAPL.US) and Xiaomi-W (01810.HK). (ta/u)
