As of 1:50 PM, the Nikkei average is up by 106 yen. Softbank Group <9984>, TDK <6762>, and Toho Electric <8035> are among the top contributors, while Fast Retailing <9983>, Daiichi Sankyo <4568>, and Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> are among the top negative contributors. In terms of sectors, marine transportation, real estate, electricity/gas industry, construction, and wholesale trade are among the top gainers, while pharmaceuticals, banks, insurance, transportation equipment, and precision instruments are among the top losers.
The Nikkei average is struggling. There seems to be some reluctance to actively buy due to the desire to assess the remarks of Governor Ueda of the Bank of Japan, scheduled to hold a press conference in the evening.
