The Beijing Municipal Administration of Pharmaceuticals recently publicly solicited opinions on the tentative regulations for the management of self-service (pick-up) pharmaceutical vending machines for Beijing pharmaceutical retail enterprises.

According to reports, under the premise of building an international consumer center city, adapting to new trends in consumption development, and improving the convenience and accessibility of public drug purchase, the above regulations plan to set up self-service pharmaceutical vending machines that can provide real-time online pharmacy services in areas such as large transportation hubs, tourist attractions, and large shopping centers. The relevant vending machines will only sell Class B non-prescription drugs. (js/u)
