The government proposes to introduce the first low- to medium-capacity "smart green collective transportation system" in East Kowloon, with a total length of about 7 kilometers, including approximately 6 kilometers of elevated bridges and approximately 1 kilometer of tunnel. There are 8 stations along the line, including Choi Hung East, Choi Wan, Shun Lee, Shun On, Sau Mau Ping, Po Tat, Ma Yau Tong, and Yau Tong East.

The Transport and Logistics Bureau stated on social media that the government will invite suppliers and operators to submit letters of intent in the second half of this year, compete for bids in 2026, and approve the project contract in 2027. The authority expects to complete the project by 2033 or earlier. On June 19, the authority will submit a funding application for inspection and design to the Legislative Council Works Sub-Committee, involving about 263 million yuan. The bid document will require bidders to complete the construction project as soon as possible.

The train runs on a dedicated lane and is not affected by road traffic conditions. It is expected to take about 10 to 15 minutes from Po Tat to Yau Tong or Choi Hung area, saving about half of the current travel time per trip.
