Titanium TranTiXXII design used for “roof and door decoration hardware for corporate Chinju shrines” - Contributing to reducing the maintenance load on Chinju shrines within coastal offices -

2024/06/13

Nippon Steel Co., Ltd.

Design titanium TranTiXXII of Nippon Steel Co., Ltd. (hereafter, Nippon Steel)(Trantixi) was used for the roof (thin titanium plate with a green blue color) and door decoration hardware (titanium sheet treated with ion plated gold (hereafter, IP gold) with a golden glow) in the renovation work of Enmei-jinja Shrine within the Nippon Steel Works Hiroshima Works, Ltd. (hereafter, Nippon Steel Works) premises.
In the manufacturing industry, there are many factories and offices that have Chinju-sha, but many repair issues such as aging buildings and chronic labor shortages of craftsmen are heard at Chinju-sha within coastal factories/offices. Nippon Steel contributes to protecting corporate culture and reducing costs in terms of materials by providing solutions such as reducing long-term maintenance loads with titanium with excellent corrosion resistance and easy construction using design-grade titanium TranTiXXII with excellent processability.
Enmei-jinja Shrine was built in Showa 13 in Shinmei-zukuri style represented by Ise-jingu Shrine, and was named “Enmei Shrine” after the place name “Niho-cho Aza Enmei” at the time of construction. Recently, it became necessary to repair the damaged copper-roof, and Mr. Yasuhisa Mimura, the representative of Yasuhisa Kowa Construction Co., Ltd. (Kumano-cho, Aki-gun, Hiroshima-ken), who undertook the dismantling and repair of the shrine building, proposed titanium that has high durability even in environments exposed to salt damage in highly salt damaged areas, and received high praise for the high durability of titanium and the design of TranTiXXII from the client Nippon Steel Works, which is familiar with metal materials, including special steels.
Also, the IP gold-finished Trantixxii used as a door decoration can be used for flexible designs using laser cutting processing, and in addition to its golden brilliance, the hardness of titanium nitride (TiN), which is the main component, is high, so scratch resistance has also been improved.
Designed titanium TranTiXXII is the world's first titanium brand that conveys “tradition” and “beauty” to the next generation through time, using unique technology to express various colors and tones. Starting with traditional Japanese shrines and temples, we have a track record of being used in over 700 buildings such as famous theaters, hotels, museums, and churches in Japan and overseas.
Nippon Steel will continue to contribute to the development of society through activities that meet the “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations (“strengthen efforts to protect and preserve the world's cultural and natural heritage sites”), which is the target of “11. Community development where people can continue to live”).
