SAN JOSE, Calif. — June 12, 2024 — Today, Roku, America's #1 TV streaming platform*, picked up "A Radical Act: Renee Montgomery," an inspirational feature documentary about Renee Montgomery, the first former WNBA player to be both a co-owner and executive of a WNBA team. The film was produced by UNINTERRUPTED and P&G Studios and directed by Emmy Award winner Sandrine Orabona.

Renee Montgomery is a two-time WNBA Champion, sports broadcaster, and activist who is currently co-owner and vice president of the Atlanta Dream. This new feature documentary is an intimate portrait of Renee and the experiences that formed her character, from growing up in West Virginia to winning a national title at the University of Connecticut, then going on to capture two WNBA titles with the Minnesota Lynx. The documentary follows Renee's transition from player to front office and reflects how family and community helped turn Renee's integrity into a game changer. Renee will preview select clips from the feature at the 27th Annual American Black Film Festival in Miami, Fla. on June 14.

"Our growing lineup of premium original sports programming takes audiences to the center of the action of their favorite leagues and gives viewers intimate access to the athletes at the heart of the game," said Joe Franzetta, Head of Sports, Roku Media, and Sean Boyle, Roku Originals. "We're proud to partner with best-in-class production and brand partners The SpringHill Company and P&G Studios to bring 'A Radical Act: Renee Montgomery' to millions of viewers."

"The UNINTERRUPTED team has always been a fan of Renee Montgomery on the court. There are few athletes who have championships under their belt in high school, college, and the WNBA. But when Renee became the first former WNBA player to hold a team ownership stake and an executive role with the league, she immediately became the epitome of our 'More Than an Athlete' mantra," said Camille Maratchi, Vice President of Unscripted and Documentaries, The SpringHill Company. "We cannot wait for folks to get an up-close-and-personal look at what it takes to re-imagine a professional sports team."

Directed by Sandrine Orabona, "A Radical Act: Renee Montgomery" is produced by UNINTERRUPTED in association with Storyform, P&G Studios, and the WNBA. LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, Philip Byron, Renee Montgomery, Stephanie Acevedo, Kimberly Doebereiner, and Eric Austin serve as executive producers. Camille Maratchi serves as co-executive producer.

"At P&G Studios, we look for captivating cultural stories that resonate with people and challenge us all to open our minds to new perspectives and narratives," said Eric Austin, Vice President, Global Marketing & Media Innovation at Procter & Gamble. "P&G Studios was thrilled to continue our ongoing partnership with UNINTERRUPTED to tell a powerful story about women breaking glass ceilings and charting new territories that can foster relevant connections with P&G brands, and Renee's story was a perfect complement for Mielle, the leading Black-founded and women-led beauty brand and official textured haircare brand of the WNBA."

Roku's growing slate of Roku Originals offers bold, fresh entertainment from the biggest names in Hollywood. In addition to "A Radical Act: Renee Montgomery," viewers get free access to "The Great American Baking Show," "Honest Renovations," "The Spiderwick Chronicles," "Morimoto's Sushi Master," the "Die Hart" franchise, "WWE: Next Gen," "WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story," and more.
