Kyuden International Co., Ltd., a member of the Kyushu Electric Power Group, has invested in Swiss venture capital company Candi Solar AG, which operates on-site photovoltaic technology businesses for small and medium-sized enterprises in India and South Africa, and has entered into a strategic partnership agreement.(Note)Through this investment and strategic partnership, Kyuden International aims to support the further growth of Candi Solar, as well as to pursue new business opportunities and expand energy solutions businesses in India and South Africa, where economic growth is remarkable.
(Note) A service where photovoltaic facilities are installed on the customer's premises and the generated electrical utilities are directly utilized by the customer.
Candi Solar offers contract forms tailored to the needs of its customers to promote the introduction of photovoltaic facilities for small and medium-sized enterprises in India and South Africa, which have a high dependence on fossil fuels. Since its establishment in 2018, the company has steadily acquired customers, and as of the end of May 2024, the contracted photovoltaic output capacity is about 110,000 kW.
Kyuden International will continue to take on the challenge of realizing a low-carbon and sustainable society, which is stated in the Kyushu Electric Power Group's management vision for 2030, by supporting the further growth of Candi Solar through this investment and strategic partnership, as well as pursuing new business opportunities and expanding energy solutions businesses in India and South Africa.
