Ctrip Group (00961.HK) CEO and (International Markets) Vice President Sun Jie stated during an interview that this year, Trip.com will expand into the Middle East, Indonesia, and the Philippines markets through its subsidiary. The company will establish new sales points in these three areas to expand its existing market share. Trip.com will also introduce local talent to carry out localization work such as the opening of local websites to match local demand. Sun Jie hopes that in every market where the company operates, it will become a leading online travel platform and will help promote the company's development through online penetration and the incorporation of artificial intelligence technology.
Sun Jie mentioned that in the first quarter of this year, Trip.com's order volume increased by 70% year-on-year, and outbound travel orders doubled year-on-year. Significant recovery was observed in places such as Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand, with double-digit growth rates year-on-year. He reiterated that the overseas market is one of Ctrip's two growth engines.
