Shimizu Construction Co., Ltd. (President Kazuyuki Inoue) has developed and productized a compact hydrogen energy utilization system "Hydro Q-BiC Lite" that stores all the equipment from producing to using the hydrogen supply chain in a container for further expansion of renewable energy and achieving carbon neutrality.

Hydro Q-BiC Lite is a package-type hydrogen energy utilization system that compactly stores a set of equipment such as a hydrogen manufacturing device, hydrogen storage device, and fuel cell equipment in a space equivalent to a 40-foot container. The basic specifications of each device are a hydrogen manufacturing device with a production capacity of 5Nm3/h, a hydrogen storage device with a storage capacity of 300Nm3, and a fuel cell with an output of 8kW, using a hydrogen absorption alloy tank that can compactly and safely store hydrogen in the storage device. This system has been selected for the package model plan of the subsidy project "Green Hydrogen Production and Use Real Implementation Support Project" (Subsidy rate of 10/10, upper limit of 253 million yen) in Tokyo, and it is expected to be introduced at low cost.3The base of Hydro Q-BiC Lite is the core technology of a building-attached hydrogen energy utilization system "Hydro Q-BiC" jointly developed by our company and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. Utilizing our own unique hydrogen absorption alloy and optimal control technology for renewable energy use applied to Hydro Q-BiC, in particular, this system realizes simplified design and construction by standardization of the device specifications (device capacity, installation space) and prefabrication of the production process. In addition, the installation can be completed by performing only minimal foundation work and piping and wiring work under the container, provided that the area of the bottom of the container (2.4m x 12m) is secured.3In the future, our company will focus on sales activities of Hydro Q-BiC Lite and contribute to expanding the use of hydrogen energy and achieving a carbon-neutral society.
