The National Weather Service in the USA's outlook for June 15 to June 19 shows that temperatures in most parts of the country may be higher than normal, except for the cooler areas of the Northern High Plains and Northwest.

Below is the U.S. agricultural weather forecast for Monday, June 10, 2024, exclusively compiled by Jinshi Futures APP.

Western United States Cool and rainy weather extends from the northwestern Pacific to the northern Rockies. This rain is beneficial for crops in the northwest, including winter wheat and small grains sown in the spring. At the same time, the hot weather in the Southwest is beneficial for farming and crop growth, although there is a high wildfire threat in some areas of Arizona and New Mexico.

Significant precipitation occurred in some parts of New Mexico. The rest of the areas are mainly hot and dry weather, although the temperature has not reached the recent high points. The high temperatures in the southwest region mainly peaked on June 6. The temperature in Death Valley, California reached 122°F (about 50°C), Phoenix, Arizona was 113°F (about 45°C), and Las Vegas, Nevada was 111°F (about 44°C), all of which were historical records for that day.

Corn Planting Area of the United States Showers and a few thunderstorms extend southwest from the Upper Midwest. At the same time, warm and mostly dry weather in the eastern corn belt is favorable for late-season corn and soybean planting, as well as winter wheat growth.

There were showers in some parts of Texas, Montana, and North Dakota. Meanwhile, the weather in the central plains is dry. Recent and ongoing precipitation has provided relief to some drought-affected areas in the region, although some precipitation came too late to benefit winter wheat. In Dodge City, Kansas, the total rainfall from June 1 to 9 was 5.69 inches, bringing the total rainfall from the beginning of the year to 9.21 inches (108% of normal).

Weather Outlook Initially, the active weather in most parts of the United States will eventually consolidate along the cold front sweeping through the central United States on Tuesday. Subsequently, the cold front will reach the coastal states along the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday, although cool and unstable showers will persist in the Great Lakes states for a few days. According to preliminary reports, the United States will breathe a sigh of relief from the continuous thunderstorms that triggered more than 500 tornadoes in May. Before calm weather arrives, precipitation in the eastern half of the United States may reach 1 to 3 inches, except in the southern hinterland. In addition, early heat waves will expand in the western United States this weekend, with maximum temperatures exceeding 110 degrees Fahrenheit and covering lower altitude areas in the desert southwest.

Cool and dry weather is accompanied by some residual clouds. In fact, the maximum temperature in some eastern corn regions today will remain below 70°F (about 21°C). Although the temperature is below normal, producers are using dry weather to plant the remaining corn and soybean areas, as long as field conditions permit.

The contrast between the persistent hot weather and high humidity along the Gulf of Mexico and nearby areas and the cooler conditions further north. Sporadic showers occurred in areas extending westward from Carolina near the intersection of hot and cool air. At the same time, the Florida Peninsula is preparing to transition from hot and dry spring to the sudden start of the rainy season in the summer of 2024, which is expected to occur this week.

Significant precipitation will be scarce in most areas in the next 5 days, and it is expected to be completely dry from the southeast inland to the area north of the Ohio River. The area west of the Rocky Mountains will also remain dry. In other areas, including the Great Plains, the Midwest, and the Northeast, there will be generally light to moderate showers and thunderstorms. However, in more southern areas, the Florida Peninsula may experience excessive rainfall, with a total rainfall of 4 to 12 inches or more over 5 days. Elsewhere, the hot weather will gradually expand and cover most areas, with temperatures in the central plains reaching 100°F (about 38°C) by Thursday.

The 6-10 day outlook for June 15-19 from the US National Weather Service shows that temperatures in most of the country may be above average except for the cooler North High Plains and northwest. At the same time, rainfall from coastal Texas to the south Atlantic and from the northwest Pacific to the Great Lakes region will be above normal, in contrast to the rest of the country, including Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states, and close or below normal rainfall from California to the southern plains region.
