Fiona Harvey, the prototype of the female lead in the hit Netflix series "Baby Reindeer" (NFLX.US), accused Netflix of defamation and demanded at least $170 million in compensation.
Harvey publicly claimed to be the inspiration for the Martha character in "Baby Reindeer", and said that she was portrayed as a convicted stalker in the series, which is based on a true story, but in reality she was never convicted or jailed.
Netflix responded to the lawsuit by stating that it will actively defend the case and support the creator of "Baby Reindeer", Richard Gadd's right to tell his story.
