Closing from the previous day, 38,786.00 yen, up 295.83 yen from the market open (38,841.75 yen), the growth has shrunk. The Nikkei 225 futures were in a range of 38,750 yen to 38,820 yen during lunchtime. The dollar-yen has been about 30 yen higher since around 9 a.m., with a yen strength and dollar weakness at 155.50-60 yen per dollar. The Asian market is seeing Shanghai Composite Index rise about 0.2% with a movement that squeezed the closing price of the previous day, while Hong Kong Hang Seng Index is upward-trending in the positive zone and has risen about 0.9%.

Summary of the start of the afternoon session
In the afternoon Tokyo market, selling started a little ahead of the market open. According to the view that the 75-day moving average line in the vicinity of 39,000 yen on the Nikkei average has become a resistance line on the upside, there is little upside potential from here. On the other hand, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures are showing a strong downward trend in after-hours trading, and the fact that Hong Kong Hang Seng Index is maintaining a solid performance seems to be reassuring the Tokyo market.
In terms of sectors, marine transportation, securities and commodity futures, and oil & coal products are among the top performers while services, real estate, and fisheries and agriculture are among the top decliners.
In the top trading value of the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market, Disco <6146>, Asics<7936>, Kawasaki Kisen <9107>, Advantest <6857>, TDK <8035>, Renesas <6723>, Daiichi Sankyo < 4568>, Nippon Yusen <9101>, SoftBank Group <9984>, and Nomura <8604> are among the high performers. On the other hand, SHIFT <3697>, Kasumigaseki Capital <3498>, Laser Tech <6920>, Recruit HD <6098>, Nidec Corporation Sponsored ADR <6594>, Daikin <6367>, Socionext <6526>, NTT <9432>, Nissan Motor <7201>, and Mitsui Bussan <8031> are declining.
In the sector, coal commodity ETF is the top performer while the real estate sector is the top decliner.
