East Japan Railway Company, headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, with President Yohichi Kumagai, is working to build a cross-industry supply chain to help solve challenges such as the "2024 logistics problem," reducing CO2 emissions, and promoting local revitalization.
Four companies: Yotohito Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Kunimi-cho, Date-gun, Fukushima Prefecture; representative director: Miaoai Kobayashi), Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; director and representative executive officer: Hiroshi Morita), Japan Post Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president: Tetsuya Chida), and East Japan Railway Company (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; president: Yohichi Kumagai) are working to build a cross-industry supply chain to help solve challenges such as the "2024 logistics problem," reducing CO2 emissions, and promoting local revitalization.
Utilizing the resources and know-how held by each company, a demonstration experiment will be conducted to transport peaches with no chemical fertilizers or weed-killers, as well as non-standard peaches, using Japan Post's "Yu-Pack" and the luggage transport service "Hako-View" on the Shinkansen.
