The inventory turnover rate index continued to decline, and the cost index continued to fall. In May, due to the increase in enterprise stocking, the inventory turnover rate index fell by 0.6 points from the previous month. The cost index fell by 0.6 points from the previous month. After falling for four consecutive months, the enterprise cost level has remained flat with last year, but there is still room for further decline.

In May, the supply and demand sides of e-commerce logistics continued to maintain a good running trend, and the overall e-commerce logistics index rose for three consecutive months. From the demand side, during the "May Day" holiday, outdoor sports, travel equipment, take-out dining and other travel-related e-commerce consumption increased rapidly, with the total business volume index and rural business volume index increasing by 2.1 points and 1.8 points, respectively, reaching 129.8 points and 129.7 points, with a year-on-year growth rate close to 30%.

In addition, as the mid-year online shopping promotion activity '6.18' approaches, major mainstream e-commerce platforms are heating up early, promoting the increase of e-commerce business volume. Under the background of accelerating demand growth, e-commerce logistics enterprises continue to improve supply capacity and operation efficiency through resource integration, scientific planning, new technology application, digital transformation, etc., and the cost index has fallen to the level of the same period in 2023. The actual load rate, satisfaction rate, delivery rate, logistics timeliness and other indexes have all improved.

Overall, the e-commerce logistics in May continued to steadily improve, with the overall index reaching a new high in nearly six years.
