The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau of Macau reported a monthly increase of 8.9% and an annual increase of 29.7% in lucky gambling gross revenue in May, reaching MOP20.188 billion.
According to Zhītōng Cáijīng APP, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau of Macau announced that lucky gambling gross revenue rose 29.7% annually to MOP20.188 billion in May, the first time since January 2020 and the highest level since the outbreak, mainly due to the boost from mainland China's May Day golden week. In the first five months of this year, Macau's lucky gambling gross revenue accumulated to MOP96.059 billion, up 47.9% year-on-year.
Citigroup released a report in late May, raising its forecast for Macau's lucky gambling gross revenue in May from MOP20 billion to MOP20.5 billion, or about 79% of the same period in 2019, based on the latest industry trends.
