Recently, Dai Wenyuan, the “God of AI”, founder and CEO of Fourth Paradigm Company, was a guest in Gelonghui's high-end interview “Dr. Gelong's Living Room”.

Dai Wenyuan is a post-80s born in the ancient city of Suzhou. He graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a bachelor's degree and a doctorate from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He studied under Professor Yang Qiang, the first member of the International AI Association in the Chinese community.

He worked for Baidu. He was the youngest Baidu senior scientist at the time, and received Baidu's top prize of one million US dollars. After arriving at Huawei, he was the chief scientist at Huawei's Noah's Ark Laboratory and also received the Huawei President's Award.

After leaving Baidu and Huawei, 31-year-old Dai Wenyuan founded the fourth paradigm. When he was 40, the company successfully went public.

It can be said that Dai Wenyuan combines wisdom and wealth. In a conversation with Glong, Dai Wenyuan said that he did not feel that he had achieved financial freedom. Regrets are often self-inflicted; what you don't get is actually something outside of your body. Young people should have a firmer belief: don't follow that normal path; follow their own path.

If you look at it positively, you can get a lot of valuable wealth from it. For example, improving one's abilities can contribute more value to society.

In the interview, Dai Wenyuan said that what changed the trajectory of his life the most was hearing Turing Award winner Jim Gray's speech on the Four Paradigms.

Among them, the four paradigms of scientific development mentioned in the speech defined the fourth stage of future scientific development. This left a deep “mark” on him.

Including all the AI stuff that comes later, he thinks it's actually all implementing this fourth paradigm methodology.

At a time when the economic situation is less exciting, Dai Wenyuan said in his message to the current post-00s that the educational resource environment they received was far better than his own time.
