According to people familiar with the matter, if Tesla successfully registers FSD software with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Tesla employees can conduct internal FSD tests on public roads in China. The report said that Tesla's next plan is to provide FSD upgrade services to Chinese customers later this year. Furthermore, according to some sources, Tesla may sell FSD software in the form of a subscription in China.

FSD's launch in China will provide an important source of revenue for Tesla. Tesla's sales in China fell by more than 7% in the first four months of this year. It is worth mentioning that recently, a Tesla employee in China confirmed that after their vehicle's software was updated, the words “Employee FSD Beta Program: Registered” appeared on the screen. However, these vehicles have yet to actually enable any of the new FSD features. According to the news, Baidu will grant Tesla map surveying and mapping qualifications and provide a drive-level navigation system.
