Headwaters Co., Ltd. JR West is promoting a group digital strategy with the goal of contributing to new value creation and revitalization by making full use of digital technology and abundant data.
　JR West's Group Digital Strategy aims to improve work efficiency and quality through generative AI, centering on three restructurings. One such initiative, “Copilot for Station Staff,” is a generative AI assistant that instantly acquires necessary information from many business rules and products. By utilizing “Copilot for station staff,” we aim to improve the efficiency of customer service and service quality.

“Copilot for Station Staff” is being developed with the goal of solving the following issues.

When dealing with customers, it takes time to search for necessary information from many business rules and products, and as a result, customers are kept waiting.

Inquiry results have not been sufficiently analyzed and utilized, and they have not been applied to the improvement of the sales system or the product itself.

The characteristics of each area, category, and product are visualized from the content of the inquiry, and improvements are analyzed and extracted.
Headwaters provides development support to link Azure OpenAI Service (*2) and Microsoft Fabric (*3) on the generative AI platform “SyncLect Generative AI” (*1) by utilizing technical capabilities related to LLM (large-scale language models) and RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems.

■About the future
JR West and Headwaters began developing an application for the demonstration test of “Copilot for Station Staff” from 2024/3. Going forward, we will gradually expand the scope of coverage of introduced stations and document data analysis, and aim to improve the work efficiency and service quality of station staff.
