The Zhitong Finance App learned that the world's largest fertilizer producer Nutrien (NTR.US) said that in a tough market environment, the company will indefinitely close three fertilizer mixing plants in Brazil as part of a broader restructuring. The company added that it will rely on partners and two other fertilizer mixing plants in Brazil to supply fertilizer to local customers.
It's worth mentioning that before closing three fertilizer blending plants in Brazil, Nutrien decided to sell its assets in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay as part of an effort to turn losses into profits for the region's operations. The company also reportedly decided to close an older mixing plant in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, although the decision has yet to be announced.
