First in Malaysia: Customers to Design CelcomDigi's New Retail Stores

Begins store transformation nationwide to deliver elevated retail customer experience

PETALING JAYA, 27 May 2024 – CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi) is gearing up to introduce its new CelcomDigi retail stores promising customers an engaging, superior store experience. To ensure that these new stores meet the customers' needs, CelcomDigi initiated the first of its kind customer-led retail store design experience, inviting customers to participate in designing the interior of the retail stores.

Starting from today until 3 June 2024, customers can showcase their interior design skills by joining the "Design the New CelcomDigi Store" campaign accessible via CelcomDigi website. Interested customers can do so by submitting their input on the store's look and feel that they feel can further enhanced their overall store visit experience. Customers can also post their designs on Facebook and X social platform feeds and later, see their choices come to life when the new stores are launched.

This initiative is part of CelcomDigi's one-year retail transformation programme, aimed at bringing the best product offerings, innovative services, and experiences to customers in this age of 'digital-everything.' This retail transformation exercise will involve the consolidation of the current Celcom Bluecubes and Digi Stores nationwide into a new CelcomDigi branded store designed to be the go-to-shop for the latest offerings including services that address all of customers' connectivity needs.

Speaking on this exciting milestone, CelcomDigi's Chief Sales & Retail Officer, Cheng Weng Hong said, "Over the past year, we have efficiently integrated our retail touchpoints and channels which allowed us to seamlessly cross serve both our Celcom and Digi customers, and this retail transformation journey that we are embarking on will further elevate our retail footprint. Having a single branded store will allow us to meet our customers increasing connectivity needs.

"The decision to engage customers through gamification is also our way of involving them and making them a part of this major milestone in CelcomDigi's transformation journey. The online game will give us a chance to get some insights and inspiration on the ideal interior layout, allowing us to create a conducive retail experience for customers right from the first moment they step into the store until they complete their transactions."

During this retail transformation period, CelcomDigi will continue to ensure that customers are well supported and continue to stay connected easily with seamless reliable services and experiences that they have always enjoyed. When any of the stores are closed for the transformation, customers will be directed to the nearest stores or in some locations, they can also perform any sales or service transactions at the CelcomDigi pop-up stores which will be opened nearby. Alternatively, customers can also do self-serve transactions online via the Celcom Life or MyDigi apps.
