By the midday close, Hong Kong stocks had risen 842, down 874, and closed at 1,298.
On the sector side, the trend of large technology stocks diverged. Meituan and Ali rose slightly, NetEase fell nearly 3%, JD fell about 2%, and Tencent fell nearly 2%.
Power stocks continued to rise. Huadian Power International Power Co., Ltd. rose nearly 6%, while Huaneng International Power Co., Ltd. and China Electric Power rose more than 4%.
Shipping port stocks strengthened collectively, with COSCO Offshore Control up nearly 5% and Orient Overseas International up more than 4%.
Biomedical stocks declined significantly, with Pharmacovigilance and Kangfang Biotech falling more than 6%.
