Anyone interested in Clearwater Analytics Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:CWAN) should probably be aware that the Chief Client Officer, Subi Sethi, recently divested US$362k worth of shares in the company, at an average price of US$19.46 each. The eyebrow raising move amounted to a reduction of 19% in their holding.

Clearwater Analytics Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent sale by Subi Sethi is the biggest insider sale of Clearwater Analytics Holdings shares that we've seen in the last year. That means that an insider was selling shares at around the current price of US$19.08. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. In this case, the big sale took place at around the current price, so it's not too bad (but it's still not a positive).

Does Clearwater Analytics Holdings Boast High Insider Ownership?

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Clearwater Analytics Holdings insiders own about US$21m worth of shares. That equates to 0.4% of the company. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.
