The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to data released by the China Iron and Steel Industry Association, in April, crude steel production was 85.94 million tons, down 7.2% year on year; pig iron production was 71.63 million tons, down 8.0% year on year; steel production was 116.52 million tons, down 1.6% year on year; and coke production was 38.49 million tons, down 6.9% year on year. In April, the average daily production of crude steel, pig iron, and steel in China was 2,865,000 tons, 2.388,000 tons, and 3.884 million tons, respectively. In January-April, China's crude steel production was 343.67 million tons, down 3.0% year on year; pig iron production was 284.99 million tons, down 4.3% year on year; steel production was 451.03 million tons, up 2.9% year on year; and coke production was 158.48 million tons, down 2.1% year on year.
