The two companies said the merger will make the combined company the second-largest operator in the Eagle Ford shale area, Texas. It will have a low-attenuation, long-life production portfolio of approximately 250,000 b/d, and deep, high-quality inventory, which can provide significant returns throughout the cycle.
Currently, SilverBow Resources is trying to withstand board challenges from Kimmeridge Energy Management. The latter has been at odds with the company since taking a stake in SilverBow Resources in 2022, and currently owns about 13% of SilverBow Resources's tradable shares.
