1. Summary of financial results for the fiscal year ending 2023/12

Regarding the consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending 2023/12 of Nippon Washo Holdings ＜2499＞, sales were 4,504 million yen (down 5.6% from the previous fiscal year), operating income was 393 million yen (down 6.2% from the same period), ordinary profit was 352 million yen (down 10.2% from the same period), and net income attributable to parent company shareholders was 172 million yen (down 27.0% from the same period). Since the founder's merit money of 50 million yen was recorded as an extraordinary loss, the decline in net profit increased.

The total number of applications for kimono dressing classes remained steady in the spring, with an increase of about 38% compared to the previous year, and about 600 more customers participated in the classrooms throughout the year. Furthermore, the number of participants in events and classrooms for existing customers also increased by approximately 8% compared to the previous year. However, continuing from the previous fiscal year, sales fell below the previous fiscal year due to the effects of customers refraining from buying due to cooling consumer sentiment, etc. As a result, operating profit also declined. However, since the increase in the number of visitors is a factor leading to an increase in future purchases, we believe that the financial results were not necessarily pessimistic.
