Eid ＜6038＞ announced on the 7th that a “virtual key,” which is being developed in collaboration with Zigowatz, has been adopted by “Kurtz Share Rent a Car” and service has started.

“KARTS SHARE RENT-A-CAR” is a hybrid car rental service of car rental and sharing provided by CARTS Mobility.

It is possible to select manned and unmanned rental with a single application, and users can freely reserve vehicles in their favorite style. If the same application is installed, a smartphone can be used as a car key. A virtual key that controls everything from starting the engine to the end of use with an application is incorporated and adopted at the API level.

A “virtual key” is a smart lock system that uses Zigowatz's patented technology to replace an automobile key with a smartphone. It is possible not only to unlock/lock the car key, but also to activate/deactivate the push start button.

Zigowatz is involved in the development of ordinary chargers for electric vehicles and the development of certification and billing systems such as asynchronous authentication systems for IoT product groups, and formed a capital alliance with Eid in 2022/10.
