On April 25, at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the GAC Group participated in the exhibition with five major vehicle brands. As an intelligent electric vehicle head brand, GAC Aion unveiled the first second-generation global strategic model, the second-generation AION V, at this auto show. The new car will be launched globally in July 2024.
GAC Trumpchi, on the other hand, brought the latest results of high-quality transformation into a new energy technology enterprise. First, the cooperation between GAC Trumpchi and Huawei was further deepened. The two sides jointly launched Trumpchi's Huawei “new” plan to jointly create a “new” plan, focusing on in-depth research and development in various fields such as smart chassis and intelligent human-computer interaction. GAC Trumpchi also became the first brand to be equipped with next-generation Huawei intelligent technology such as Qiankun Smart Driving and Hongmeng cockpit in all fields of cars, SUVs, and MPVs. The first model will be launched and delivered in the first quarter of 2025.
In addition to bringing in new models, at the exhibition, GAC also revealed plans to lay out more low-altitude economies and enter humanoid robots.
Among them, in terms of shared travel, Ruqi Travel, a subsidiary of the GAC Group, has successively launched the first fully open Robotaxi (driverless taxi) operation technology platform in China and the Robotaxi operating vehicle management system. Currently, Ruqi Chuxing has begun commercial operation of the L4 Robotaxi; Andi Technology, a joint venture between GAC and Didi, will also launch the first commercial L4 autonomous driving model in 2025. In terms of group travel, the first intelligent small to medium bus Robobus (driverless bus) with L4 functionality from the company Qiji Auto incubated by GAC will be mass-produced by the end of this year.
At the same time, in conjunction with the construction of a low-altitude economy, the GAC Group is studying how to better integrate flight modules with automobile models to accelerate the industrialization of the new “flight+car” model. It plans to launch a flying vehicle demonstration operation plan by 2027 to create a three-dimensional intercity travel model in 2-3 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. By 2027, the GAC Group will use a full chain of three-dimensional smart travel to help build a “1-hour Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Life Circle”.
It is also learned that at present, the GAC Group is also joining hands with leading global companies in fields such as intelligent manufacturing, automotive aftermarket services, and smart living to explore bright future application scenarios for humanoid robots. At present, the GAC Group has taken the lead in setting up an industrial development fund of 30 billion yuan to invest in intelligent connected new energy related industries and promote the collaborative development of the entire industry chain. It will continue to increase investment in R&D in the future.
