Gronghui, April 25 | Cisco says hackers have “destroyed” some of the company's digital security devices and hacked into global government networks. The company said in a blog post published on Wednesday that its adaptive security device—a device that integrates several different digital defense functions—has previously unknown vulnerabilities that have been exploited by a group of hackers they call “UAT4356.” The blog post described the organization as a “complex, state-backed actor,” and said the investigation found that those affected “involved a global network of governments.” Cisco said these vulnerabilities have been patched and customers are urged to take immediate action to update the software. The company didn't provide further details about the vulnerabilities, saying they date back to earlier this year.
