Today, the stock indexes of the two markets fluctuated throughout the day after opening low. By the close, the Shanghai Index was down 0.67%, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Index was down 0.43%, and the GEM Index was down 0.32%. In terms of sectors, the tourism and hospitality sectors strengthened in the afternoon; the defense and military sector rose throughout the day; sectors such as aquaculture, medical equipment, and biopharmaceuticals registered the highest gains; and sectors such as gold, coal, oil and gas registered the highest conceptual decline. About 1,900 stocks rose in the two markets, with a turnover of more than 820 billion yuan. In terms of ETF gains and losses, Huaan Hang Seng Internet Technology ETF, Huaxia Hang Seng Internet Technology ETF, and E-Fangda China Securities Hong Kong Stock Connect Internet ETF led the way, with increases of 3.76%, 3.73%, and 3.73% respectively. Huitian Fuguo Hong Kong Stock Connect Innovative Drug ETF, Yinhua China Securities Hong Kong Stock Connect Innovative Drug ETF, Fuguo China Securities Hong Kong Stock Connect Internet ETF, and Ping An China Securities Animal Husbandry and Breeding ETF all rose more than 3.5%. On the downside, the Cathay Pacific China Securities Coal ETF, the Huaxia China Securities Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong Gold Industry Stock ETF, the GF China Securities All Index Energy ETF, Yongying China Securities Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong Gold Industry Stock ETF, and the Huitianfu China Securities Energy ETF all fell by more than 4%.
