On April 19, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government of Japan announced the selection of an enterprise group composed of 11 companies including Mitsui Fudosan, Yomiuri Shimbun, Asahi Shimbun, and Toyota Motor Corporation as partners for the redevelopment project of the former Tsukiji Market site in Tokyo. The total cost of the project is approximately 900 billion yen (about 5.8 billion US dollars). The project plans to build a large multi-purpose stadium with a capacity of 50,000 people to host international games and music events such as baseball and soccer. The project will also include facilities such as a food area and an international academic conference venue.
