GLONGHUI, April 18 | Railway operator CSX announced its results for the first quarter of 2024. Revenue was US$3.68 billion, down 1% year on year, slightly higher than expected US$3.66 billion; profit fell nearly 10% year over year to US$893 million, or US$0.46 per share, slightly higher than market expectations of US$0.45. According to the company, lower fuel surcharges, lower other revenue, weak truck transportation revenue, and lower export coal prices offset the rise in commodity pricing and the increase in multimodal transport and coal sales.
