Financial Services Association, April 8 (Reporter Cui Ming) After a lapse of two months, another batch of imported game versions “arrived”. A total of 14 new games were approved, and 46 imported games have received edition numbers this year.

This evening, the State Press and Publication Administration updated the 2024 import online game approval information, adding 14 new games. This includes 4 client-side games, 1 mobile and client-side game, 3 console (Switch and composite carrier) games, and the remaining 6 are mobile games.

Listed companies involved mainly include “Mega Man 11” by Tencent (00700.HK), “Divergent Million King Arthur: Ring” by Perfect World (002624.SZ), “Wangdu Genesis” by Gibit (603444.SH), “Reboot of Destiny” and “Shi Soul Xiao” by Oriental Pearl (600637.SH), and “Sonic the Hedgehog Team Racing” by Migu Mutual Entertainment under China Mobile (600941.SH).

The new games approved this time are mainly Japanese IP games. Among them, “Diversive One Million King Arthur: Ring” is a new title in the famous two-dimensional “One Million King Arthur” IP series developed by Perfect World Games under the license of Japanese game giant SQEX. It is worth mentioning that Perfect World's mobile game “Persona: The Phantom of the Night”, based on another Japanese national IP, will be in public beta on April 12.

Also, “Sonic the Hedgehog Team Racing” and “Pokémon Let's Go! New games in this batch, such as “Eevee,” “Metal Slug: Commander,” and “Mega Man 11,” are all established IP series from famous Japanese game makers.

“Cross-platform games continue to emerge, and the trend in the game industry is moving towards multi-terminal interoperability. At the same time, imported IP clearly focuses on mature foreign national games, which may further intensify competition in the game industry in terms of IP and gameplay.” Game industry analyst Zhang Shule told the Financial Federation reporter.

Up to now, 46 imported game editions have been released this year, surpassing 27 in the same period last year. Last year, the first batch of imported game editions was released in March, and the second batch was released in August. Counting domestic games, 379 new games have been approved since the beginning of the year. An agency source told the Financial Federation reporter that the current pace of edition distribution is basically stabilizing, and market reserves are sufficient, and this trend is expected to continue.
