ALAM Flora Sdn Bhd, an environmental services provider, again demonstrates its commitment to recognising the dedication and hard work of its emplo- yees during the holy month of Ramadhan.

Through its annual "Program Singgah Sahur", the company paid tribute to its "unsung heroes" who have been working tirelessly to keep the communities clean and sustainable.

The recent celebration held in Kuala Lumpur (KL) saw Alam Flora and its subsidiary, Alam Flora Environmental Services (AFES), coming together to honour the night shift workers stationed at the Dataran Merdeka area.

These employees, often working behind the scenes, were treated to a special sahur event attended by Alam Flora CEO Adam Saffian Ghazali.

"We hope that the programme with Alam Flora Group employees like this would instil enthusiasm in encouraging the staff to be more responsible in carrying out their tasks, especially in this holy month of Ramadhan," Adam Saffian said, adding that he is continually inspired by the dedication and hard work of Alam Flora employees, particularly during the fasting month.

These unsung heroes, he said, deserve utmost appreciation and recognition.

Their commitment to complete their tasks, even while fasting during the current hot weather, exemplifies the values of dedication and responsibility that Alam Flora holds dear.

Adam Saffian expressed his pride in leading a team of such dedicated individuals, and he is confident that their efforts will continue to make a positive impact on their communities.

This sentiment underscores the importance of acknowledging the efforts of frontline workers, particularly during a time of spiritual significance.

Moreover, Adam Saffian emphasised the role of camaraderie and mutual reliance between staff and management, essential for the effective delivery of solid waste management services.

"A leisure programme like this would also be able to strengthen the relationships between staff and management as both parties would need to rely on each other, especially in upholding the trust given in ensuring that the solid waste management of this country is carried out perfectly," he added.

Beyond KL, "Program Singgah Sahur" extends its reach to several other areas managed by Alam Flora and AFES, including Pahang, Putrajaya and Sepang, Selangor.

This initiative not only recognises the contributions of employees but also reflects Alam Flora's commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).

As a subsidiary of Malakoff Corp Bhd, Alam Flora aligns its CSR efforts with Malakoff's overarching goal of "Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities," with a specific focus on the community pillar.

Similarly, last year, Alam Flora hosted "Program Singgah Sahur" in Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), Pahang, Putrajaya and Sepang, reaffirming its dedication to honouring its employees and fostering community engagement.

This annual tradition serves as a testament to Alam Flora's ongoing commitment to acknowledging the contributions of its staff members and strengthening bonds within the communities it serves.

In essence, "Program Singgah Sahur" not only provides a platform for appreciation but also fosters a sense of unity and collaboration among employees and management.

As Ramadhan comes to a close this year, initiatives like this serve as reminders of the importance of acknowledging and celebrating the efforts of those who work tirelessly to uphold our communities' wellbeing.

In line with its commitment to the communities, Alam Flora has also delivered up to 1,500 packets of "bubur lambuk" and 100 reusable bags in support of the Share Livelihoods Programme at the Drive-Thru Recycling Centre (DTRC) of Aeon Big Wangsa Maju, KL.

An initiative such as this demonstrates Alam Flora's dedication to educating the public about minimising the usage of single-use bags or containers and lowering the amount of garbage that is disposed of in landfills.
