Morgan Chase released a report saying that the profits of the four major state-owned banks in the mainland increased by 1.6% in the fourth quarter of last year, outperforming the Bank of China, Postbank and Joint Stock Bank. Their profits declined by 2.7%, 6.7%, and 11% year-on-year respectively during the same period. J.P. Morgan expects the trend of differentiation to continue in the first half of this year, and investors are advised to continue to pay attention to the four major domestic banks. According to Motong, based on the results of the fourth quarter of last year, the rating of Agricultural Bank (1288.HK) was upgraded from neutral to increased; the rating of Postbank (1658.HK) was downgraded from increasing holdings to neutral; and the rating of Everbright Bank (6818.HK) was downgraded from neutral to reduced.
